SS 304/304L/304H Sheets & Plates
Saisteel & Engineering Company The difference
between 321 stainless steel and 304 stainless steel sheets lies mainly in the
composition, which significantly affects its properties. Both 321 and 304 are austenitic
grades of stainless steel; that is to say, they contain high levels of nickel and
chromium–but 321 contains a higher amount at 17-20% nickel, while grade 304 only has
8-10.5%. At first glance, this may not seem like a big difference, but it does affect
the material in several ways. Comparing 321 vs. 304 stainless steel sheets, there are
some key points one should consider: Their corrosion resistance is almost identical;
however, the formation of chlorides enhances corrosion risks when using grade 321; It
can handle extremes of hotter temps without losing structural integrity; it offers
greater yield/strength under applied stress conditions; And lastly, welders need special
precautions when welding thicker gauge sections due cooling rate being faster than that
found on mild steel grades.
Stainless steel 304L Sheets and Plates are non-magnetic by nature. It has a higher chromium-nickel content than SS 304 Sheet & Plates, making it more resistant to chlorine corrosion.In high-temperature fluids, it also resists carbide precipitation, making it suitable for saline applications. Heat treatment will not harden SS 304L Sheets and Plates. To create high quality SS 304/ 304L Sheets & Plates, we employ quality grade raw materials sourced from reputable vendors. We follow an internationally standardized production technique under the supervision of our highly educated and frequently trained professionals. Our entire workforce adheres to each stage of the process to the letter, and we employ technology correctly to construct rigid structures with the support of professionals.
